Meet Nature Calls
Nature Calls is Alberta’s first cloth-diapering service designed by childcare centres for childcare centres. Developed by the team at Wee Wild Ones, Nature Calls was born from the desire to expand our mission, vision, and values into daily practice, and taking our commitment to sustainability to the next level.

Why Cloth Diapers?
Although recognized for their convenience, disposable diapers have a number of negative impacts. Since its popularity grew in the 1960s in North America, disposable diapers have become one of the largest waste products piling up in our landfills with approximately 28 million discarded diapers being tossed in landfills each year, and each diaper taking roughly 500 years to break down and decompose.
Safety First
Our team has worked alongside Alberta Health Services to develop a rigorous set of Healthy & Safety practices while creating our cloth diapering program.
This includes:
● Sanitary disposal of waste through City of Calgary
● Safe & secure disposal bins
● Secure transportable laundry bins
● Training in Universal Precautions
● Proper sanitization (Children, Staff & Surface Areas)
● Laundering Protocols
● Frequent diaper checks & treatments
● High Efficiency washing machines on site and specific laundering practices that clean diapers while also maintaining their quality (ex. Stripping and bleaching)
